STATES SENIOR LONG DRIVE CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITORS DENNIS A. DUNCAN  In the spring of 2013 a friend "dared" me to find out how far I could hit a golf ball. He reminded me that I was just an old fat guy behind a desk. So, I went to a local qualifier at Keith Hills Golf Course, Buies Creek, NC in May. I had never competed in long drive before and commence to immediately miss the grid with my first six balls. After that I was hooked. Using a borrowed club I qualified for the Region 11 Senior Division and went to Mesquite in September and competed in the Legends Division. I was a sixty year old rookie and enjoyed the experience immensely. I did not compete in 2014 and look forward to getting back into it in 2015. Dennis |
